Before too long the 25th Winter Olympics will be coming right up. They’re opening February 6th in italy, this will be the first time the olympics are being cohosted by two cities Milan and Cortina D’ampezzo. there are so many incredible athletes competing in things like, figure skating, alpine skiing, speed skating and so many others. Today i wanted to focus on an Olympic Sport you can try out yourself, Curling! Today i have in Jesse Coulle from The Petersham Curling club to break down this wonderfully weird sport!

FCCDC Food Insecurity Grant Program

Today, I’m joined by Communications Director Kate Lawless and Program Manager Hannah Soble from the Franklin County Community Development Corporation. We also have Lev Benezra from the Amherst Survival center, Evita Wilbur from Pulse Cafe.

They’re here to discuss a unique grant program that’s funding local restaurants to prepare meals, which are then distributed to food-insecure communities across the Commonwealth—including right here in western Massachusetts.

This initiative is putting $450,000 into action, helping provide around 50,000 meals while also supporting restaurants facing rising costs, staffing challenges, and shifting consumer habits in the wake of the pandemic. It’s a win-win for both the restaurants and the individuals who rely on food pantries and community meal programs.
