Today I have on nonbinary beekeeper Ang from They Keep Bees who will break down the structure of a beehive and why they think it’s queer! Don’t worry we’ll also define queer for those who may not know.
FCCDC Food Insecurity Grant Program
Today, I’m joined by Communications Director Kate Lawless and Program Manager Hannah Soble from the Franklin County Community Development Corporation. We also have Lev Benezra from the Amherst Survival center, Evita Wilbur from Pulse Cafe.
They’re here to discuss a unique grant program that’s funding local restaurants to prepare meals, which are then distributed to food-insecure communities across the Commonwealth—including right here in western Massachusetts.
This initiative is putting $450,000 into action, helping provide around 50,000 meals while also supporting restaurants facing rising costs, staffing challenges, and shifting consumer habits in the wake of the pandemic. It’s a win-win for both the restaurants and the individuals who rely on food pantries and community meal programs.

Adam’s Donuts in greenfield has been around for 68 years. Passing through generations of Adam’s family members before eventually being passed on to other donut makers.
