Hey, I’m Will Brideau, or as everyone calls me at The River, “Nighttime” Will.

I’ve always been obsessed with music – especially The Blues. I grew up in a big family, the youngest of five kids in Rochester, NY and got exposed to all different kinds of music thanks to my siblings and my parents’ incredible vinyl collection.

I was 10 years old when I discovered The Blues thanks to a radio show on WXXI called “Blues Caravan” and never looked back. My great, late Uncle Fred gave me my education in The Blues and was like a second Dad to me. He introduced me to Blues harmonica, Jimi Hendrix, Howlin’ Wolf and a whole lot more.

I moved to The Valley to attend Hampshire College in 2004 and after I graduated, I didn’t want to leave…so I stayed!

As a kid I always dreamed of being a DJ on the radio, and now that dream has come true thanks to The River! I’m on air Monday through Thursday 7-10 pm and Saturday 9 am-2 pm. Every Monday from 9-10 pm I have a Blues show called Blue Monday where I play the best of The Blues from my personal collection.

Thanks for tuning in and feel free to drop me a line whenever – I’m at will@wrsi.com.
