A new court ruling could provide more transparency into license plate surveillance used across Massachusetts. A Suffolk Superior Court judge has ordered State Police to release camera locations and audit records showing how officers searched automatic plate-reader databases. The ruling comes as communities including Greenfield and Easthampton have already ended their use of Flock cameras. It’s not yet clear when the records will be released.
