Wine Snob: A Farewell To The Wine Mother

Her real name was Judy O’Brien.  She taught me everything I know about wine.  She was one of the strongest people I’ve ever known, like The Iron Woman of Wine.  She touched a lot of lives.  She passed away on Wednesday March 5th, 2014 after battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer.  It was a joy and a catharsis to go through some of the old Wine Snob segments and hear her voice.  It was also great to talk to some of the people who worked closely with her for decades.  If you knew Judy in real life or from the radio, I hope you enjoy this little tribute.

She’s pictured here with my baby, Pax.  Glad she got to meet him.

I will be camping out for The Cancer Connection in Wine Mother’s honor on Wed. March 19th.
