The WRSI Origin Story

Why are our station’s call-letters WRSI? Does it really stand for “Where Records Skip Incessantly”? Why is the city of license Turners Falls? What were the early days of WRSI like?

July 26th 1981 was WRSI’s first day on the air. Who better to talk to 40 years to the day later, July 26th 2021, than the person who put us on the air-the first WRSI owner and Program Director, Sunderland’s Ed Skutnik.

Hear Monte’s conversation with Ed and see some old pictures below.
