There has been a rift in the Northampton arts world after the Northampton Arts Council cancelled a planned Biennial at the Forbes Library. The cancellation process began after Easthampton’s Poet Laureate, Jason Montgomery, raised concerns about a piece of art and the process writ large. Is it censorship? Was it the right thing to do? Is “White Fragility” in play?
