In its inaugural year, the Red Shoe Run had over 130 runners and raised over $5,000 to support the children and families of the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield. This year’s run will kick off at the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield, continue up Chapin Terrace, and through beautiful Van Horn Park and end back at the house. After the race, you can take a tour of the house and participate in our family-friendly activities.

The Ronald McDonald House of Springfield provides a “home away from home” for children and families receiving medical treatment at local area hospitals. The true cost of providing lodging and supportive services is $120 a night. While a donation of $15 a day is suggested, over 93% of nights last year were served to families who were unable to contribute towards their stay. No family is ever turned away for their inability to pay. All proceeds from the Red Shoe Run will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Springfield to ensure children and their families are provided with all the comforts of home while they undergo specialty medical treatment at area hospitals.
