Yantra Yoga has been passed down from teacher to student for over a thousand years. Originating in Tibet, it eventually made its way west, allowing us the opportunity to learn about one of the oldest recorded systems of yoga in the world. This coming September through November, participants will have the chance to experience this rare, ancient, and beneficial practice not widely taught in the United States.
Yantra Yoga’s unique series of positions and movements is a superb method to attain optimal health, relaxation, and harmony through the coordination of breath and movement. It involves seven phases of movement connected with seven phases of breathing. These practices can help to calm the mind and relax the body, leading to happiness and the easing of stress and tension.
Martina Kacurova will be leading this beginner Yantra Yoga Series in Northampton. This course is open to anyone, and will provide the foundation for further study and practice of Yantra Yoga.
Martina Kacurova completed her level one Yantra Yoga teacher training and is authorized to teach Yantra Yoga by lineage holder Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, the Tibetan culture expert who has been bringing Yantra Yoga to the West since the early 1970s.
In practicing this ancient form of yoga, we not only get to receive its mental and physical benefits, but also preserve a vital aspect of Tibetan culture.
