Every year, WRSI teams up with Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies up and down the Valley to help provide holiday gifts to over 200 local kids from families in need. The River Cares for Kids is coming back for another season! Could you be a “secret Santa” for a lucky kid (or two) this year?

Starting Tuesday, November 28th, head to our gift list (coming soon!) and pick a kid (or kids) to give a gift to. Follow the simple instructions on our site and bring the unwrapped, labeled gift to one of our drop-off locations by Tuesday, December 12th:

  • Windham County:
    – H&R Block, 747 Putney Rd, Brattleboro, VT 05301
  • Franklin County:
-Green Field’s Market, 144 Main Street, Greenfield, MA
-McCusker’s Market, 3 State Street, Shelburne Falls, MA
-Atlas Farm Store, 218 Greenfield Rd, South Deerfield MA
  • Hampshire County:
-Simple Gifts Farm Store, 1089 N Pleasant St, North Amherst, MA 01002
-UMass Five College Federal Credit Union, 200 Westgate Center Drive, Hadley, MA (near the Amherst town line)
-UMass Five College Federal Credit Union, 225 King Street Northampton, MA
-The WRSI River Studios, 15 Hampton Avenue, Northampton, MA
-Galaxy Restaurant, 60 Main St, Easthampton, MA
-The Old Creamery Coop, 445 Berkshire Trail (MA Route 9), Cummington, MA 01026

We’ll work with our agencies to gather up the gifts and get them where they need to go by the time the December holidays start up. And this year, we’re adding a special treat to the mix: one lucky gifter will be chosen to win a free pair of tickets to the Kimaya Diggs & Friends Holiday Show at the Drake in Amherst on Saturday, December 16th. Just our way of saying “thank you” for making the holidays a little brighter for local families.

Stay tuned! The River Cares for Kids is on its way…
