Billy Bragg

Live from The Northampton Box Office

July 31, 2009

Billy Bragg loves his fans almost as much as we love him.  What was supposed to be a quick chat with one song (to save his voice) turned into an intimate mini-concert as Billy played for us a song that didn't make it on to his latest album, and took requests from the crowd.

The Avett Brothers

August 2, 2009

A tiny box office on Main Street.  A packed house.  And some of the prettiest rockin' folk music you've ever heard.

Chris Hillman and Herb Peterson

Former Byrd and Flying Burrito Brother Chris Hillman tells some stories and plays some favorite tunes with his pal Herb Peterson.

Tift Merrit

August 5, 2009

Tift Merritt recaptures the intimacy of her new live album live in the Riversound Cafe.

Rhett Miller

"Rhett Miller is dreamy."  That phrase was actually uttered, with complete sincerity, by a hetereosexual male of my acquaintance.  And it's true - the lead singer of the Old 97's is talented, gracious, and - let's be honest - not at all hard on the eyes.  He's also rather funny, and does an excellent impersonation of Kenneth the Page from NBC's 30 Rock, on which he'll be making an appearance.  And when you ask him to play a certain song of his that you love, and he replies, "Anything for you," well, you'd go all gooey, too.
