George Strait, Miranda Lambert sign on for Jones’ tribute concert

Country stars George Strait and Miranda Lambert are among those who have signed on for the sold-out tribute show to the late George Jones, who died earlier this year.

Billboard.com is reporting that Strait and Lambert will join other country crooners including Alan Jackson, Charlie Daniels and the Oakridge Boys for the tribute.

Jones, who had No. 1 hits in four decades, died at the age of 81 on April 26.

The concert is scheduled for Nov. 22 in Nashville.

He told his father the drawing was of Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Lucy Vodden, now living in Surrey just outside of London _ drifted apart after schoolyard days, but they have gotten back in touch as Lennon has tried to help Vodden cope with Lupus, a life-threatening disease.

For author Mark Lewisohn, telling the story of the rock band the way it deserves to be told will take time - a quarter-century, to be exact.
