Northampton Bank Robber Fled On Bicycle-Suspect Arrested

(Northampton, MA) – Police in Northampton made a quick arrest in a bank robbery. Thursday afternoon the Freedom Credit Union at 226 King Street was held up by a man who fled the scene on a bicycle.  It happened shortly after 3 p.m. at the Stop & Shop plaza.  The suspect made off with between $2,000 and $3,000 in cash.   A few hours later, 53 year old Michael Lucey was arrested after being identified on the bank’s surveillance video.  No weapon was used in the holdup.
