(Northampton, MA)  —  Northampton Mayor David Narkewicz has officially launched the city’s downtown Zipcar program.  Zipcars are shared vehicles which can be rented on an hourly basis by members. It’s billed as a great alternative for people who don’t want to own their own cars. The company is leasing two municipally-owned parking spaces behind City Hall. Narkewicz said the program fits in with the city’s vision of sustainable transportation.
