(Shelburne Falls, MA) – The Mohawk Trail Regional School Committee is asking for the state to pass a new law that allows that district to convert to a four-day school week. The committee has voted to pen a letter to local legislators asking them to file the special state bill, which would credit school districts for how many hours, not days, students spend in school. Mohawk officials say the change would allow the district to eliminate the fifth day and extend the other four, allowing for the abbreviated week.
