(Holyoke, MA)  –   A federal judge has ruled the Holyoke Geriatric Authority is a public agency and not entitled to Chapter 11 bankruptcy protections.  The ruling was handed down Monday. The troubled former nursing home owes the city six-million-dollars, according to Mayor Alex Morse. The chairman of the authority’s board disputes that figure. Morse called the ruling “good news for the city.”
