(Holyoke, MA)  –  The city of Holyoke is considering a local meals tax. The .75-percent tax is allowed by the state as a local option. The measure was recommended by the Finance Committee Monday in a split vote. It’s expected to come before the full City Council tonight.  The Department of Revenue estimates Holyoke could raise half-a-million a year by adopting the local tax on restaurant meals.
