Jaz Tupelo

If you’ve been in the area for over 15 years, I probably sold you some music at some point. I was the goth chick at Main Street Records, and I also worked at the Northampton Box Office.

I got into radio the usual way: I quit my job at an architecture firm to run off to a hippie commune in Virginia with the boss’s son (yes, I put that in my resignation letter). One morning while milking cows, the radio station I was listening to mentioned they were looking for volunteers. With my flexible commune schedule, I was able to volunteer. A lot. Then they started paying me and I left the hippie commune.

Pretty textbook, I know…

Anyway, I always knew I wanted to return and settle in the Northampton area. So now I’m back, with my husband and our 5 cats. If you see me staring at you with a quizzical look on my face, trying to figure out if I know you, it’s probably because I sold you CDs or concert tickets at some point.
